Training the leaders of the next generation with the latest advanced technologies

Each department has its own research building that provides opportunities for practical learning, and these facilities have the latest equipment for carrying out research in diverse fields. There are also many active programs in coordination with industries, such as lectures by prominent business leaders and airship construction exercises.
In addition, at the Utsunomiya campus there is close cooperation both among the departments within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, as well as with the social science departments and faculties on campus.

A campus filled with the latest research and training facilities

At Utsunomiya Campus, home of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the facilities include an airfield for model airplanes and a machine shop, and a campus LAN and wireless network provide mobile internet connectivity. In the Environment and Biotechnology Course, gene analysis equipment and electron microscopes are available for researching the genetics and cellular structures of organisms, and a range of mass spectrometers (GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MDS, LC-TOF/MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance equipment allow analysis of the key components and environments of living things. This comprehensive learning environment provides opportunities for in-depth studies.

Mechanical/Aerospace Course, Department of Integrated Science and Engineering
Training engineers in manufacturing related to mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.

We aim to cultivate individuals with strong motivation, rich sensitivity, and originality toward manufacturing, who possess advanced specialized skills and broad knowledge in mechanical engineering and its applied fields of aerospace engineering. These individuals will also demonstrate proactiveness and creativity to meet the diverse demands of an evolving society.

Robotics/AI Course, Department of Integrated Science and Engineering
Developing future engineers with practical knowledge based on robotics and the latest AI.

Studying robotics and artificial intelligence by acquiring knowledge of different fields such as municipalities, medicine, biotechnology, information, and aeronautics, will lead our students to gain a broad perspective and a high level of creativity. We anticipate that graduates from this course will play an active role in manufacturing industries, information and communication industries, and research institutes related to robotics, intelligent robotics, electrical and electronic engineering, and informatics.

Computer Science Course, Department of Integrated Science and Engineering
Study leading-edge information science to become engineers who will support the information society.

Students study information technology, data science and AI, and techniques for media expression from the various theories of information science that form the basis of these fields. In addition, students acquire practical skills that enable them to contribute to solving various environmental and societal problems through exercises to generate original AI, practical training to develop information systems in teams as they would do in real working situations, and collaboration with various companies.

Environmental Biotechnology Course, Department of Integrated Science and Engineering
Learn bioscience, from the basics up, to solve the diverse needs of our society.

This program seeks to foster the development of human resources who can solve various societal problems through their own initiative from a broad perspective of life and the environment. Students will acquire not only the ability to understand the environment and life at the molecular level, but also gain a wide range of knowledge and skills in areas of applied life science and biotechnology, such as food and drug development.
