Status of residence for job-hunting: changing conditions and procedures

Graduates of junior colleges or undergraduate or graduate programs or universities, or professional school students awarded a title upon graduation (for a professional course) who wish to search for work after graduation can change their residence status from "Foreign Student" to "Designated Activities" and then proceed with job-hunting. The period of 6 months, but you can extend the status of residence by 6 more months if you have not yet found a job (for a maximum of 1 year).
Also, while you have the status of "Designated Activities", you can apply for permission to engage in other activities and hold a part-time job while you carry out your job hunting.
