Remarks 1. The application fee is 35,000 yen for the first admission period (exam administered by the university) and 25,000 yen for the second admission period (exam utilizing the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, or EJU).
2. Tuition and miscellaneous fees vary by department (tuition ranges from 830,000 to 1,100,000 yen; miscellaneous fees range from 200,000 to 380,000 yen).
3. An annual associate membership fee of 10,000 yen for the Nihon University Alumni Association is required. Additionally, a fee of 10,000 yen covering the first year of full membership must be paid during the graduation year.
4. Depending on the faculty, an annual fee of 10,000 to 40,000 yen for the support association, maintenance fund, etc., may be required (as of the 2027 academic year). Please check the guidance page on the online application website for details.
5. To support the infrastructure for education, research, and clinical activities, the university plans to request voluntary contributions to fundraising initiatives after enrollment.
6. Depending on the courses taken, separate fees for coursework or practical training may be required (please contact the Faculty for more details).

Remarks For the College of Humanities and Sciences, international students are eligible to obtain the qualification to take the Social Worker Examination; however, after acquiring the social worker qualification, they cannot obtain a work visa as a social worker.

The English language test is required only for applicants to the Departments of Philosophy, History, Chinese Language and Culture, English Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Sociology, and Mathematics within the College of Humanities and Sciences.

A minimum passing standard is set for the oral examination; applicants who do not meet this standard will be considered unsuccessful even if their overall score exceeds the minimum passing score.

<Regarding EJU Requirements>
● The first application period is open to individuals who take the "Japanese as a Foreign Language" section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) in either November 2025 or June 2026 and meet the following criteria: 1) A total score of 300 points or higher in "Japanese as a Foreign Language" (Reading Comprehension; Listening and Listening-Reading Comprehension); 2) A score of 40 points or higher in "Japanese as a Foreign Language" (Writing); and 3) For applicants to the Department of Mathematics or the Department of Information Science, a score of 120 points or higher in "Mathematics (Course 2) [Test language: Japanese]" from the EJU taken in either November 2025 or June 2026.

Remarks ● The second application period is open to individuals who take the "Japanese as a Foreign Language" section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) in either June 2026 or November 2026 and meet the following score requirements:
 1) A total score of 300 points or higher in "Japanese as a Foreign Language" (Reading Comprehension; Listening and Listening-Reading Comprehension).
 2) A score of 40 points or higher in "Japanese as a Foreign Language" (Writing).
 3) Applicants to the Department of Sociology must score 140 points or higher in "Japan and the World" (test language: Japanese) and 120 points or higher in "Mathematics (Course 1)" (test language: Japanese) in the June 2026 or November 2026 EJU.
 4) Applicants to the Department of Information Science must score 130 points or higher in "Mathematics (Course 2)" (test language: Japanese) in the June 2026 or November 2026 EJU.
● The Second Application Period is open to individuals holding a Japanese residence status that meets the following conditions:
 1) The residence status must be other than "Temporary Visitor."
 2) The period of stay must be valid until at least the day following the enrollment procedure deadline for the Second Application Period (March 12, 2027).
● Regarding the Department of Social Welfare: While international students can qualify to take the Certified Social Worker examination, they cannot obtain a work visa as a Certified Social Worker after passing the exam and becoming certified.
● A minimum standard has been set for the oral examination; failure to meet this standard will result in rejection, even if the total score exceeds the minimum passing score.
