Pedagogy
Exploring the concept of education through its essential parts.
Pedagogy is the study of teaching and learning methods. Focusing on teaching methods for the growth of the hearts and minds of young students, research in pedagogy examines the various phenomena surrounding education. Various facets of learning are covered, including parental discipline, school curriculum, governmental policies, and corporate human resource development initiatives. In order to better address the issues surrounding these fields, study of the history of education and field studies at schools deepen one’s understanding of the role of education for people and society.
Current pedagogy studies address issues such as admissions systems, violence at schools and homes, student absenteeism, and bullying by pursuing the root causes and social factors behind them. Research for devising solutions to these issues require the application of knowledge in the fields of sociology and psychology.
