Liberal Arts Education

Approximately 60% of the full-time iCLA faculty are foreign nationals and almost all classes are held in English. iCLA’s Bachelor of International Liberal Arts has majors in Global Business and Economics, Political Science, Interdisciplinary Arts, and Japan Studies and equips students with more than just technical knowledge, giving them the soft skills required to succeed in modern society. iCLA promotes an interdisciplinary approach and encourages its students to connect knowledge across disciplines with the aim of cultivating the critical thinking and cross-cultural communication skills necessary to tackle problems from complex and integrated viewpoints. In addition to the academic pathways in their chosen major, iCLA students have the additional freedom to choose any combination of elective courses they like from the subject areas of Data Science, Sociology, Quantitative Reasoning & Natural Sciences, Physical Education, and Japanese Language. By doing so, iCLA students can discover their own potential and strive towards their career and personal goals.

Study Abroad

iCLA students have the opportunity to go on study abroad for a semester or a year at one of our partner universities. We have partnerships with more than 70 institutions spread across 30+ countries/regions, most of which offer a wide selection of courses in English.*
You can choose from our expansive network of institutions worldwide to suit your academic goals. Friendly one-on-one advising sessions from faculty and staff are available to help students plan and make the most of their study abroad experience.
Through study abroad, you can expand your international perspective, travel to new and exciting destinations, and connect with other like-minded people across the globe to enrich your own intercultural experiences. Study abroad is based on mutual tuition waiver, making it a cost-effective option to study in a third country.
Partnerships may only be limited to certain departments/faculties within the universities.

Small Class Sizes and a 5:1 Student-to-Faculty Ratio

The courses in iCLA’s Japanese Language Program focus on all four skills: speaking, reading, writing, and listening, for well-rounded language acquisition. iCLA students are able to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture as they learn to discuss various cultural and social topics in Japanese. We keep our class sizes small to provide ample time for speaking practice and individualized instruction. Your language learning journey begins at iCLA, and our instructors are there to support you all the way.

Our workshops are taught by highly experienced and qualified instructors who are passionate about their art. Learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom, so we encourage you to test your limits and try something new!
