New English-based Master’s degree program will be launched in the area of Sport Sciences!


Waseda University Graduate School of Sport Sciences is proud to announce that an English-based two-year master’s degree program with two areas of specialization, “Health and Exercise Science” and “Sport Management,” starts in September, 2018. Application guideline will be scheduled to be posted to our website, in December 2017.

This new program is designed to expose students to advanced knowledge in each area of specialization and exciting research opportunities in the field and/or laboratory setting. With the completion of course work and research, graduates will be prepared to apply their knowledge and experience to improve the health and wellness of their community, pursue their professional career and contribute to the world of sport sciences in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic-Paralympic Games and beyond.

Sections of exam prepared by the college or university Application screening process, Interview, Admissions results will, in general, be based on a review of application documents. However, in some cases students will be invited to have an interview and/or take a written exam, after which final results will be announced.
English examination TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, GEPT or EIKEN
Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Not necessary.
Remarks Applicants are required to submit the following documents for review:
English proficiency test score, set application form, academic transcript from high school, document to prove your academic qualification (certificate of graduation or expected graduation from high school etc.), and a certificate of results of university entrance qualifications and other standardized qualifications such as SAT, ACT, GCE, Abitur, Baccalaureate, IB etc.
Note: Students who submit a certificate of university entrance qualification examination or standardized test administered for an educational system in which English is the first language (such as SAT, ACT, GCE, IB taught in English) are not required to submit a certificate of English proficiency.
Results of the documentary screening will be shipped at October 14, 2016.
Students invited to take an interview or written test must do so on one of the dates specified by the School. This date will be between October 29 and November 13, 2016. For more details please refer to the admissions homepage at:

* Note that ‘AO April Entry (Overseas)’ is for students who have graduated, or expect to graduate from a high school in an educational system outside of Japan. Students who have graduated, or expect to graduate from a high school run under the Japanese educational system should apply for the ‘AO April Entry (Domestic)’ .
