Japan’s first comprehensive university of health and welfare
The International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) was founded in Ohtawara City, Tochigi, in 1995. Established as the country’s first comprehensive university of health and welfare, IUHW opened a School of Medicine at its Narita campus in 2017, and opened a new campus in Akasaka in Tokyo in 2018. There are currently 10 undergraduate departments and 24 graduate departments spread across 6 campuses. In 2020 the university is scheduled to open the International University of Health and Welfare Narita Hospital, a world-class hospital hub that will become the university’s 6th affiliated hospital and the main hospital for the School of Medicine.
One of the main features of IUHW is a multi-job collaborative education that utilizes a wealth of affiliated facilities.
