Thông tin ngành học

Building personnel who can play an important role in the real world with their scientific and logical cognitive abilities and comprehensive and multifaceted human understanding skills.

The Faculty of Human Sciences provides students with scientific and logical thinking abilities together with a comprehensive, multifaceted ability to understand people. While providing an education with respect for human dignity based on the founding spirit of our school and through the study of psychology, life sciences, and the latest in natural sciences, our lessons lead students to deepen their understanding of people. Furthermore, students will possess an active voice, equipped with rich communication skills and the ability to analyze problems, as well as the power to independently and pragmatically solve problems in the real world. With the worsening of bullying and abuse, the increase in teenage apathy, and the many issues surrounding how to improve welfare for aged persons, disabled persons and people facing hardships, the world these days is confronted with many historical social challenges. Here, we are cultivating personnel who will be able to truthfully face these challenges from a multifaceted approach involving psychology, life sciences, sociology, and welfare, and find solutions from a scientific understanding.

Faculty of Human Sciences– what makes us stand out!

■Curriculum supporting the training of Certified Public Psychologists.
A new national qualification for psychology workers, ‘Certified Public Psychologists’ will support people’s emotional wellbeing by applying specialized knowledge and skills of psychology, beginning with psychotherapy and psychological tests.

■Curriculum set in place for students to become psychiatric social workers
Psychiatric social workers are professionals with nationally-accredited qualifications who provide counseling support for life issues for members of the community facing mental illness or mental health issues. While positions in hospitals and social welfare fields are most common, recent years have seen an increase in the areas psychiatric social workers are working in, including work in schools, corporations, and the judicial field. The Department of Human Sciences offers a curriculum with the necessary content for students to pass the national Psychiatric Social Worker examination.

■Study the latest examples of social welfare.
Japan has an aging population, and it is said that 1 in 4 people are over the age of 65 years. We will nurture students to gain qualifications and practical specialized knowledge and techniques to become Social Workers who work in the field in social welfare and are active players in a cohesive society.
