Aichi Shukutoku University is a comprehensive university, with 12 faculties and 2 campuses, located in Aichi Prefecture.

■The Department of Global Culture and Communication in the Faculty of Global Culture and Communication offers two majors: a Major of Language Studies and a Major of Multicultural and Tourism Studies. In addition to acquiring knowledge about different cultures, students can improve their communication capabilities using various languages and improve their analytical abilities through fieldwork and other activities.

■The Faculty of Business is based on the four areas of business administration, commerce, accounting, and economics, and actively incorporates active learning to provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills that can be applied in the real world of business.

■The Faculty of Global Communication provides students with opportunities to acquire advanced English language proficiency, English communication skills, and the ability to find and solve problems, while also studying the essence of communication, Japanese culture and traditions, and world affairs from a variety of perspectives. With a global perspective, the Faculty of Global Communication equips students with the ability to express accurate and persuasive opinions to the world, along with English language proficiency, communication skills, and problem-finding and problem-solving skills that can be applied to any situation.

Choose subjects according to your interests and goals

For courses other than seminars, students can select from a variety of subject groups according to their interests and goals, allowing students to create their own study plan. In addition, there are a range of opportunities for practical experiences, such as language training and field studies both within and outside Japan.

Recommended Courses

1.Tourism Industry 6 (Tourism Marketing)
This class covers marketing within the tourism and hospitality
sectors. Students learn theoretical frameworks and real-world case
studies to develop the ability to formulate strategies aimed at
enhancing customer satisfaction and securing repeat business.

2.Tourism Industry 2 (Studies of Tourism Business)
This class provides a comprehensive overview of diverse tourism industry
businesses from a service management perspective. Students gain an understanding
of the theories and knowledge underpinning organizational strategies and initiatives,
developing critical thinking skills for tourism services from an academic standpoint.

3.International Understanding Education
This class examines international understanding
education from four perspectives: national, global,
local and individual. It explores the relationship
between Japan and the world, as well as common
challenges facing humanity. Through regional
coexistence initiatives, classroom practice
examples and support for foreign pupils and
students, students learn the fundamentals of
practical international understanding education
rooted in schools and daily life.

A. The Faculty of Global Culture and
Communication offers a curriculum
designed to deepen understanding
of Japanese language education for
foreign learners, which I feel is truly
useful in society. Learning Japanese
requires effort, but I have never
found it difficult. The more I learn,
the more new discoveries I make, so
I find it incredibly enjoyable.

Major of Language Studies

Language studies consists of four major programs: majors specializing in studying culture and increasing your language skills in English, Chinese, and North and South Korean, as well as a major in "Japanese Language Education," which is designed to train teachers of Japanese language to gain a wealth of knowledge and a high level of responsiveness. Students will deepen their understanding of different cultures and develop practical language skills. Along with many lectures, both in-class training and practical training are provided.

Major of Multicultural and Tourism Studies

Multicultural and tourism studies work on improving student’s practical skills and their ability to be productive, to ensure students will be able to contribute to social development. There are two major programs—one with courses to study regional and international society, and the other with courses to study areas such as tourism, hospitality mindset, and city planning. The programs are designed to provide students with opportunities to undertake specialized study in international exchange and tourism, and to learn about hospitality, planning, and policies within cross-cultural exchange and tourism.
