Remarks While there is no minimum score requirement for the Japanese language section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) regarding eligibility to apply (though taking the exam is mandatory), it is desirable for applicants to possess Japanese language proficiency equivalent to a score of 300 or higher (including the writing section) on the EJU Japanese language test.

English examination Eligibility for application requires having taken one of the following tests—TOEFL iBT® (including Home Edition), IELTS™, or TOEIC® L&R—on or after November 2024.
Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) You must pass the N1 (Level 1) or N2 (Level 2) examination.

Eligibility requires a score of 300 or higher in the Japanese section (combined total of Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, and Listening-Reading Comprehension) of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)—specifically from the exams held in November 2024, June/November 2025, or June 2026—OR passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at the N2 level or higher.
However, applicants to the Faculty of Environmental Innovation Studies must have taken all the required EJU subject tests.

Applicants must have taken the TOEIC® L&R, TOEFL iBT® (including TOEFL iBT® Home Edition), or IELTS™ test on or after November 2024.
