Studying tourism from various disciplinary perspectives.

Research in tourism studies is related to the promotion of tourism and the enjoyment of tourists through study in topics such as tourism site planning, the regional economics of tourism, hotel management, local and international culture studies, and communication for cultural exchange. Students also take courses in specialized topics such as travel industry management and hospitality marketing to acquire the knowledge and skills required for working in the tourism industry. Topics from a variety of perspectives such as economics, sociology, and language studies are also covered.
