To study humans and the diverse cultures they have built through an interdisciplinary approach:
Biologically, humans are born as "Homo sapiens," but they grow into "human beings" nurtured by culture. In today's complex society, characterized by globalization, advanced information technology, and demographic shifts such as declining birthrates and aging populations, it is essential to acquire a broad education. This includes learning about diverse languages and cultures, engaging with others in the field of Global Studies, scientifically exploring the mechanisms of the human mind to deepen understanding and support others in the field of Psychological Services, and mastering information technology to solve problems through its application in the field of Media Science.
Furthermore, through interdisciplinary education and research, we aim to create new values.
Yamanashi Eiwa College is structured with a single Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies in the Faculty of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies, which consists of three academic domains: Global Studies (Language, Culture and Literature), Psychological Service (Psychology), and Media Science (Information Technology, Information Science and Artificial Intelligence). Students can study one academic area in depth and study broadly across multiple academic areas depending on their interests and future goals.
Thanks to our small-sized classes we can provide personal guidance tailored to each student's level of understanding.
We aim to nurture true global citizens who observe the world and society from a broad perspective and think and act across regions, Japan, and the international stage.
Fields of Study: Japanese and world cultures, literature, music, comparative culture, sociology, business management, manga and anime, children's literature, religion, and more.
We focus on fostering psychology professionals who understand the "mind" and support "people."
Fields of Study: Psychotherapy, counseling, motivation, child studies, adolescence and youth development, psychoanalysis, psychological welfare, educational psychology, human relationships, and more.
Students may also pursue further studies in our graduate school to follow a pathway toward becoming a Certified Public Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist.
We aim to cultivate creators who study information technology and use it to solve problems, generate ideas, and share them with the world.
Fields of Study: Information science, computers, multimedia, programming, artificial intelligence, network science, and more.
Students can also work toward obtaining certifications such as the IT Passport, Basic Information Technology Engineer certification, and Intellectual Property Management Skills certification.
