The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers two programs: the Economics and Management Program, and the Global Studies Program. In addition to benefiting from our traditional seminar-based education, students have the opportunity to study with faculty members from a diverse range of backgrounds.
1.Faculty members with various fields of expertise, many of whom earned their degrees overseas, are recruited both locally and from abroad and commit themselves wholeheartedly to teaching students in small classes.
2.The school’s curriculum is designed around English-medium instruction for all subjects, allowing students to develop practical and high-level English language skills. To help students adjust to an all-English class environment, each program offers intensive language courses to improve English proficiency.
3.The school offers “intra-school” courses outside the two major programs that expand the options available to all its students. Such courses help equip students, extending knowledge of world civilizations and societies, deepening reasoning ability and judgment, stimulating intellectual curiosity, and developing skills in identifying and solving problems.
1. Parallel Degree Programme allows students to take BSc (Bachelor of Science) courses from the University of London in parallel with bachelor degree courses at Musashi University and obtain degrees from both universities. The same curriculum is followed worldwide, with exams set and evaluated by the University of London and LSE based on standards of excellence recognized globally.
2. The Economics and Management Program considers statistics and econometrics important in the systematic study of economics and management, and the skills students learn will prove useful in a wide range of fields even after graduation.
3. The intensive language curriculum followed straight after entering the program provides a thorough grounding in all four skills. Advanced English proficiency will be achieved through the rigorous routine of daily classes, homework and discussions conducted in English.
1.Faculty from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds work together with students, in small classes, to explore academic interests.
2.The seminar-based curriculum and personalized support systems are structured to facilitate proactive learning and enquiry, incorporating practical skills classes, methodological training and experiential learning opportunities that empower students to take charge of their own study and to realize their future goals.
3.Capstone Projects, which represent the culmination of students’ varied journeys though the program’s wide-ranging liberal arts curriculum, can take diverse forms. These include not only the traditional academic paper but also portfolio projects that allow students to incorporate original creative work or advocacy campaigns.
