Offering 21 diverse specialized courses related to music and performing arts, we are one of the leading music universities in Japan.

91.6% of students who took the entrance exam and entered Showa University of Music placed our university as their first choice. Our student satisfaction rate for practical lessons is 98%. Showa University of Music is top class in terms of sufficiency relative to student numbers at a music university with a total of 136 practice rooms. In addition to our productive physical learning environment, we offer a wide variety of 21 courses in 2 departments for students to enhance their expertise.

Offering a range of specialized courses that cross academic disciplines, and foreign language courses specifically designed for music students.

The curriculum consists of three types of subjects: specialized subjects, liberal arts subjects, and foreign language subjects. Students can take a selection of interdisciplinary specialized courses, choosing subjects from all 11 fields, taking advantage of the many specialized course genres on offer at our university. In our foreign language subjects, we have developed original content specifically for music students, with subjects such as "Musicals in English," "Italian for Singing," and other appealing content. For international students and other non-native speakers of Japanese, subjects such as "Practical Japanese" and "Career and Japanese" are also available so that students can improve their Japanese language skills while continuing studies in their field of specialization.
