| Remarks | [Eligibility Requirements] Applicants must not hold Japanese citizenship and must meet all of the following criteria: (1) Applicants must have taken the "Japanese as a Foreign Language" subject of the Examination for Japanese University Admission (EJU) administered by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) (held in June or November of 2025 or 2026), OR possess Japanese proficiency at the CEFR B2 level or higher (specifically, having passed Level N2 or higher of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services). Additionally, applicants must have completed a 12-year school education curriculum abroad (equivalent to graduating from a Japanese high school) or be expected to complete such a curriculum by March 2027, or otherwise be designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as meeting equivalent standards. *Pursuant to Article 150, Item 1 of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the School Education Act, "persons equivalent to those who have completed a 12-year school education curriculum abroad" are defined as follows: ① Persons who have reached the age of 18 and have passed a qualification examination in a foreign country (including examinations equivalent to national-level tests) that is recognized as certifying academic ability equal to or greater than that of a person who has completed a 12-year school education curriculum in that country. ② Individuals who have completed a school education curriculum equivalent to a Japanese high school program in a foreign country, and who have subsequently completed a preparatory education course or program (such as the Center for the Support and Exchange of Returnees from China) designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology—specifically, a program comprising instruction in the subjects necessary for admission to a Japanese university. (2) Individuals possessing sufficient Japanese language proficiency to understand lectures, as instruction is conducted in Japanese. (3) Individuals eligible to obtain "Student" status of residence by the time of enrollment (April 1, 2027).
