Remarks | Qualifications for Application Applicants must be non-Japanese nationals who meet all of the following requirements. (1) Applicants must have taken the EJU (Japanese as a Foreign Language) sponsored by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in June or November 2023, or have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) level N2 or higher (administered in July or December 2022, July or December 2023), and have completed or are expected to complete 12 years of education in a foreign country that is considered to be a Japanese high school graduation in March 2024, or have been designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as equivalent to this level. In accordance with Article 150, Item 1 of the Enforcement Regulations of the School Education Law, "a person who is equivalent to a person who has completed 12 years of school education in a foreign country" is defined as follows (a) Those who have passed the examination of the relevant country (including those equivalent to the national examination; the same applies to the next item), which is recognized as a certification examination to determine whether or not the applicant has the academic ability equivalent to or higher than those who have completed 12 years of school education in a foreign country. The same applies to the next item) and has reached the age of 18. (b) A person who has completed a course of education corresponding to a high school in a foreign country and who has completed a course consisting of education related to the subjects necessary to enter a Japanese university at a course or facility that provides preparatory education to enter a Japanese university designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology [Center for the Promotion of Returnees from China, Center for the Support and Exchange of Returnees from China]. (2) A person who has the ability to understand Japanese sufficiently, since lectures are given in Japanese. (3) Those who can obtain the status of residence of "College Student" after admission.
