There are numerous issues to address in the field of business management. Management information science addresses these issues by focusing on efforts to develop information processing and communication technologies by developing IT technology (software) solutions.
Research in the field of management information science seeks to identify the information needed for the management of businesses, where it can be found, and how it can be applied towards business development activities. Such research can be thought of as the application of information, and includes not only hard data generated by computers, but also includes the sensibilities and experiences of managers in considering human-based decision-making processes as well.
