(2) The applicant must have taken the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), held by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in or after June 2017, and received a score of 260 points or higher for the subject "Japanese as a Foreign Language" (including Writing).
Or, applicants must have taken and passed level N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), which is held by The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES), and the test must have been taken in or after December 2016.

Applicants must have either scored at least 470 points on the TOEFL-PBT or 150 points on the TOEFL-CBT (TOEFL-iTP is excluded), or 500 points on the TOEIC, or level 2 or higher on the Eiken Test in Practical English Proficiency. However, this is not required for high school graduates or expected graduates whose education took place in English.
