The subject areas covered are: for "Basic Chemistry," "Composition of Matter" (nature of matter, constituent particles) and "Chemical Changes" (acids and bases, oxidation and reduction); and for "Basic Biology," "Characteristics of Living Organisms and Genetic Information" (cells, DNA, metabolism) and "Human Body Systems" (body fluids, hormones, immunity). One of these subjects will be selected for the exam on the day of the test. The exam is scored out of 100 points.
