The LL.M. in U.S. Law is for people without common law training.
Students may select any course, U.S. and international or comparative, among all the courses that we offer. You may complete the entire LL.M. in Tokyo, or you may take some courses in Tokyo and some at Temple's campuses in Philadelphia, Rome, and Beijing. You may complete your LL.M. degree in nine months as a full-time student, or in one to four years as a part-time student.
The LL.M. in Transnational Law (T.LL.M.) is for people who earned a JD in the U.S. or those who have a common law background.
Students can develop expertise, special knowledge, and practical experience in transnational law. As a Transnational LL.M. student, you may take only international or comparative courses. You cannot take a course that covers only U.S. law. You may take elective courses in private and public international law and comparative law. You may complete your T.LL.M. in nine months as a full-time student, or in one to four years as a part-time student.
For those who have a degree in a law-related field, who have law-related professional experience, or who are legal practitioners, we offer two certificate programs: Certificate of International Law & Certificate of American Legal Studies
A certificate from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University demonstrates that you have engaged in the specialized study of American or international law in a program operated by a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
