Applicants must not hold Japanese nationality and must meet one of the following conditions (however, foreign nationals with permanent residency in Japan will be treated the same as Japanese applicants):

(1) Those who have graduated from a university, or are expected to graduate by March 2026.
(2) Those who have completed a 16-year course of school education in a foreign country, or are expected to complete such a course by March 2026.
(3) Those who are recognized by this graduate school as having academic ability equal to or higher than university graduates.

Since a sufficient level of Japanese proficiency is required to understand research as a graduate student, whether the applicant possesses the necessary Japanese language ability will also be considered in the admissions decision.
