Music

Approaching music from perspectives of performance, education, and history.

Music is the art of creating beautiful sounds, and study in the field covers all aspects of theory and technique. Broadly researched fields in music are based on studying the essence of the art of music, starting with study of the history of music. There are studies in music theory, individual lessons in vocal and instrumental performance (for example, with wind or string instruments), music composition, music education, and musical performance management for producing concerts. There is also attention given to the role of ethnic music in communities that is closely integrated into people’s daily lives. There are also growing numbers of individuals studying in these fields who use their knowledge of traditional instruments and performance techniques to create music in ways never heard before.
