To be eligible to apply, candidates must have been awarded a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree upon completion of a university program abroad with a duration of at least three years. Unless an applicant possesses a very high level of Japanese proficiency and a solid research proposal, it is strongly recommended that they enroll as a research student for one year before taking the entrance examination.
