Applications from outside of Japan are accepted, but entrance examinations at venues outside of Japan are limited to affiliated schools.

It is advisable for applicants to take the entrance examination after one year of enrollment as a research student if possible, unless they have very high Japanese language proficiency and a strong research background.

For the second intake, only international students residing in Japan are eligible to apply, and only those with "College Student" status of residence under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act may apply.
