Faculty of Environmental Science and Design

New programs and scholarships for international students have been available since the 2025 academic year!

<Faculty of International Studies, Department of International Studies Track for International Students starts!>
This program is designed for international students. Students must take English and Japanese as their foreign languages.
EJU score criteria are not required! (Exams required)
After admission, students will receive an intensive Japanese language program, generous study support, and systematic career education, while enhancing their expertise and developing the skills required in a global society.

<Scholarships for International Students>
1. Entrance fee waiver scholarship
International students enrolling in a regular course of study at the university are eligible for a full waiver of the entrance fee.
Certain conditions and an application at the time of application are required to use this system.
2. Tuition fee waiver system for privately financed international students
Tuition is reduced or exempted for international students who meet certain conditions and are enrolled in a regular course of study, depending on their academic performance.
The tuition reduction rate ranges from 20-60% depending on the GPA of the semester immediately prior to the application.
The tuition reduction rate for the first semester of enrollment is a flat rate of 30%.

<Scholarship Programs for International Students>
1. Admission Fee Waiver Scholarship
This program waives the full amount of the admission fee for international students enrolling in a regular degree program at the university.
To utilize this program, applicants must meet specific criteria and submit an application at the time of enrollment.

2. Tuition Reduction/Exemption Program for Privately Financed International Students
Applications are accepted twice a year (in April and October). All international students who meet the two conditions listed below at the time of application are eligible; they may receive a tuition reduction or exemption ranging from 20% to 60% based on their GPA from the immediately preceding semester (GPA criteria differ between undergraduate and graduate programs). For students other than new enrollees, the tuition amount billed reflects the reduction or exemption applied.

<Conditions>
You must meet both of the following conditions:
1. You are enrolled in a regular undergraduate or graduate degree program at this university and hold a "Student" residence status.
2. Your average monthly financial support from home is 90,000 yen or less (excluding tuition fees), or, if you have a financial supporter residing in Japan, their annual income is 5 million yen or less.

<Tuition Reduction/Exemption Rates>
The tuition reduction/exemption rate varies based on your academic performance (GPA) in the semester immediately preceding the application.
*Note: A flat reduction rate of 30% applies to the first semester of enrollment.
・Graduate School: GPA 3.2 or higher / Undergraduate: GPA 3.0 or higher: 60% reduction
・Graduate School: GPA 2.8 or higher / Undergraduate: GPA 2.3 or higher: 45% reduction
・Graduate School: GPA 2.3 or higher / Undergraduate: GPA 2.0 or higher: 30% reduction
・Graduate School: GPA 1.3 or higher / Undergraduate: GPA 1.0 or higher: 20% reduction

Applicants must have a total score of 250 points or higher in the "Japanese" section (Reading Comprehension, and Listening/Listening-Reading Comprehension) from the 2025 or 2026 academic year (those who have passed the JLPT N1 are exempt from this requirement); applications based on the November 2026 exam are also accepted (though applications will not be accepted if the results fail to meet the requirement).
