　　Tokyo Metropolitan University provides student accommodations in order to ensure that students have a positive environment conducive to learning. The university also provides off-campus accommodations for international students.

　　Tokyo Metropolitan University provides a one-on-one tutoring system for first-year eligible international students. When studying side by side with Japanese students, international students may face various difficulties including language problems. Under this system, tutors assist international students with their studies and provide help with and advice on learning Japanese and the practical and psychological aspects of living in Japan. As a general rule, tutors are graduate students (sometimes themselves international students), whose studies are related to the majors of the students they tutor, and who are selected based on their professors’ recommendations.

　　The International Student Advising Office is here to assist international students, as well as students and teachers supporting the international students. The assistant professors at the International Center are the advisors for students. The international student advisors can help you with any concerns about academics, interpersonal relationships, family circumstances, life in Japan, etc.

　　The purpose of international student seminars is to promote interaction between Japanese and international students, and to deepen international students' understanding of Japan's unique nature, culture, and history.

　　Tokyo Metropolitan University welcomes students from around the world who come to study Japanese for various purposes. In addition to Japanese language-focused classes, we offer courses that use Japanese to deepen understanding of Japanese society and culture.

　　The International Center at Tokyo Metropolitan University provides a range of support in academic Japanese writing for non-native and native Japanese speaking students. This tutorial service is intended to help students prepare for academic Japanese writing assignments and become better writers. It is not meant to provide guidance on the specific content of the writing. Supporting Staffs are all Japanese graduate students at Tokyo Metropolitan University that have undergone training.
