Tokyo Polytechnic University has a unique history of educating a great many capable and talented students as a pioneering educational institution integrating Engineering, AI, Data Science, and the Arts.
The school was established as the Konishi Professional School of Photography in 1923. Photography itself represents a form of artistic expression facilitated by engineering technology. Since the time of our establishment, we have continually pursued 'the infinite possibilities of integrating technology and arts.'
As the environment surrounding technology and arts has been changing, Tokyo Polytechnic University has evolved as a leading-edge education and research institute for technology and media arts, including photography. Our guiding philosophy, however, has remained unchanged.
We will continue in the years ahead to contribute to the cultivation of students' innovative and creative ability in the technology and media arts.
