Kansai University Scholarship Systems (for International Students)

[On-campus scholarships]
Scholarship for privately financed international students with pre-enrollment reservation
Eligible students: Newly enrolled privately financed international students with excellent academic records and who meet the financial criteria established by Kansai University.
(Privately financed international students are those holding the residence status of “College Student.”)
*As a general rule, the scholarship is granted to all students in the doctoral program, second half.
Period of payment: 1 year
Amount: Varies depending on the year of enrollment, faculty, and graduate school.

Scholarship for privately financed international students
Eligible students: Privately financed international students enrolled in their second year or above who have excellent academic records and meet the financial criteria established by Kansai University.

[External scholarships (recommended by the university)]
These are scholarships provided by external foundations and other organizations to privately financed international students, for which Kansai University recommends eligible candidates to the foundation. For each scholarship, the university publicly recruits applicants internally, then selects candidates based on academic performance and the scholarship’s recommendation requirements before recommending them to the foundation.

[External scholarships (open application)]
These are scholarships provided by external foundations and other organizations for which students apply individually.
Some are announced by the university, while others are obtained and applied for by students on their own.

International Student Dormitory

The International Student Dormitories provide an environment where international students and domestic students can live together and, through daily use of Japanese and foreign languages, cultivate diverse values and communication skills. Each dormitory has its own distinctive features in terms of rooms and shared facilities, allowing students to choose a dormitory that matches their lifestyle.

A Fully-realized Employment Support Program for International Students

(1) Career Center job-hunting support program: “Employment Activity Events forInternational Students”
A wide variety of events specifically for international students are held.

Program contents:
・How to proceed with job hunting in Japan
・How to write application documents
・How to take part in internships at Japanese companies
・Joint company information sessions exclusively for international students, etc.

(2) Individual consultations with Career Center staff

(3) Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology commissioned project :“International Student Employment Promotion Program (SUCCESS-Osaka)”
For international students aiming to find employment at Japanese companies, the program provides support in cooperation with companies, neighboring universities, and local governments. Its curriculum focuses on corporate-exchange events, including business Japanese education, career education, and internships.
The Japanese-language instruction is oriented toward business settings and aims to develop job-ready skills immediately after joining a company.
