New programs and scholarships for international students have been available since the 2025 academic year!
<Faculty of International Studies, Department of International Studies Track for International Students starts!>
This program is designed for international students. Students must take English and Japanese as their foreign languages.
EJU score criteria are not required! (Exams required)
After admission, students will receive an intensive Japanese language program, generous study support, and systematic career education, while enhancing their expertise and developing the skills required in a global society.

<Scholarships for International Students>
1. Entrance fee waiver scholarship
International students enrolling in a regular course of study at the university are eligible for a full waiver of the entrance fee.
Certain conditions and an application at the time of application are required to use this system.
2. Tuition fee waiver system for privately financed international students
Tuition is reduced or exempted for international students who meet certain conditions and are enrolled in a regular course of study, depending on their academic performance.
The tuition reduction rate ranges from 20-60% depending on the GPA of the semester immediately prior to the application.
The tuition reduction rate for the first semester of enrollment is a flat rate of 30%.

| 비고 | The various fees differ depending on the department. 【Fees】 Department of International Liberal Arts Studies: ¥392,400 Department of International Studies: ¥412,400 Department of International Japan Studies: ¥392,400 All of the following programs can be used in combination. <Scholarship Programs for International Students> Admission Fee Exemption Scholarship This scholarship grants a full exemption of the admission fee for international students enrolling in regular programs at the university. To utilize this program, certain requirements must be met and an application must be submitted at the time of application. Tuition Reduction Program for Privately Financed International Students Applications are accepted each semester (in April and October). All international students who meet the two conditions below at the time of application are eligible and may receive a tuition reduction of 20% to 60% based on their GPA for the previous semester (GPA standards differ between undergraduate and graduate schools). For students other than new entrants, tuition is billed after the reduction has been applied. <Eligibility Conditions> Both of the following conditions must be satisfied: 1. The applicant is enrolled in a regular undergraduate or graduate program at the university and holds a “Student” residence status. 2. The amount of monthly support (excluding tuition) is ¥90,000 or less on average, or, if supported by a person residing in Japan, their annual income is ¥5,000,000 or less. <Tuition Reduction Rates> The rate of tuition reduction is determined based on the applicant’s GPA for the semester immediately prior to application. *For only the first semester after enrollment, a uniform reduction rate of 30% is applied. Graduate students: GPA 3.2 or higher / Undergraduate students: GPA 3.0 or higher → 60% reduction Graduate students: GPA 2.8 or higher / Undergraduate students: GPA 2.3 or higher → 45% reduction Graduate students: GPA 2.3 or higher / Undergraduate students: GPA 2.0 or higher → 30% reduction Graduate students: GPA 1.3 or higher / Undergraduate students: GPA 1.0 or higher → 20% reduction |

| 비고 | Only for the Department of International Liberal Arts Studies, the requirement is waived for applicants who have scored a total of 250 points or higher in the "Japanese as a Foreign Language" section (Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, and Listening-Reading Comprehension) of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) taken in the 2025 or 2026 academic year. Applications based on the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) are not accepted for the Department of International Studies or the Department of International Japanese Studies. Remarks* For the Department of International Studies and the Department of International Japanese Studies only, the aptitude test for the "English" subject is waived if a certificate is submitted showing a score equal to or higher than the designated threshold on an approved four-skill English proficiency test (for tests with an expiration date, the score must be within the validity period; for tests without an expiration date, the test must have been taken on or after April 1, 2024). Remarks** 1. Department of International Liberal Arts Studies: A total score of 250 points or higher in the "Japanese" section (Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, and Listening-Reading Comprehension) from the 2025 or 2026 academic year exams is required (applicants who have passed the JLPT N1 are exempt from this requirement). 2. Department of International Studies / Department of International Japanese Studies: Applicants may apply simply by having taken the "Japanese" section (Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, and Listening-Reading Comprehension) in the 2025 or 2026 academic year exams. While taking the "Japan and the World" section is not mandatory, doing so will result in a higher evaluation of the application documents. For both 1. and 2., applications based on the November 2026 exam results are accepted (however, for 1., applications will not be accepted if the results fail to meet the score requirement). |
