Cultivating human resources who have a shared vision and can steer society and share happiness with others.

In the Department of Law, we study under an ambitious curriculum focusing on civic basic laws in a 4-term system configured to study constitutional law and other subjects, to nurture graduates with the capabilities to perform in global corporations.

The Department of Political Science offers a curriculum covering elections, local governments, and international politics while ensuring opportunities for study abroad. Students will graduate with the competence to play a role on the global stage in NGOs and international organizations.

Faculty of Law– what makes us stand out!

■Study ‘Business Law’ and become a bridge for trade between Japan and your home country.
Students study not only corporate M&A (mergers and acquisitions), patent related duties, and troubleshooting, but also merchandise sales, staff employment, and other legal knowledge that is imperative for working in the business field. As students gain understanding of business laws, they can act as intermediaries for trade between Japan and their own home countries in the future.

■Visit Japanese corporations for practical learning with ‘Corporate Externships’.
The Department of Law’s location at the Ariake campus, placing us nearby many blue-chip firms, is advantageous for our students to participate in work experience at law firms, trading companies, financial institutions, media related organizations, government agencies, NGOs and NPOs. These experiences offer students valuable opportunities to consider what actions they need to implement in order to benefit society and make use of the knowledge they have gained.

■Practical classes that focus on the essence of politics for students interested in working in government and mass media.
‘Election specific research’ and ‘Regional government research’ are some of the characteristic practical lectures offered by the Department of Political Science. Students study issues facing modern society and future political realities navigated by an experienced teaching staff, leading students to explore how we interact with politics in our immediate surroundings.

Students gain the ability to think for themselves and articulate their ideas through the two-way classroom style.

Department of Law
While focusing on the civil code, our practical lectures also introduce corporate legal affairs and international law, giving students the skills needed to play an active role in the business arena.

In the Department of Law, students develop the ability to create rules by studying the main laws of Japan (the Constitution, Civil Code, and Penal Code), as well as the Companies Act, financial law, Intellectual Property Law, Private International Law, and other legal knowledge that is useful in business and daily life. We cultivate professionals with a broad outlook who will lead society in the business world and on the international stage. It is possible to take some subjects in Chinese.
