Tuition exemption for self-supporting (privately financed) international students

For privately financed international students, the university offers a system that exempts half of the tuition fee.
In addition, international students recommended by a Japanese language school are exempt from half of the admission fee.
Furthermore, the university also has its own grant-type scholarship system, creating an environment in which students can devote themselves to their studies with peace of mind.

Support for finding housing

The university supports students in finding housing by, for example, arranging residence in student dormitories and introducing real estate agencies near the university.
In addition, by enrolling in the Japan Student Services Organization’s “Comprehensive Rent Guarantor System for International Students,” the university’s International Exchange Center can act as a joint guarantor.

Substantial individual support

The university’s International Exchange Center provides individualized support tailored to each international student’s needs, including procedures for residence status (student visa), course registration, and scholarships.
In addition, the university operates a “International Student Supporter System,” through which senior students provide support in both academic and daily life matters.
Separate from regular classes, Japanese language courses are also offered, where students can study for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and learn how to write academic papers in Japanese.
Individual instruction is also available according to the student’s preferences.
Furthermore, the Career Support Center assists international students with job-hunting activities in the same way as it does for Japanese students.

Part-time job support

The university provides information on off-campus part-time job openings, and also offers on-campus part-time work opportunities.
For example, some international students work as Teaching Assistants (TAs) or Research Assistants (RAs), assisting with teaching or research.
There are also part-time opportunities where students can make use of their experience and language skills, such as providing language instruction to Japanese students.

To deepen interaction among international students, the university holds a variety of exchange events throughout the year.
There are also ample opportunities to learn about Japanese culture and the charms of the local area through bus tours and other activities.

Graduate students all have their own desk space.

The library houses approximately 140,000 books and about 1,500 magazine titles.
It is open until 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from October to March it is also open on weekends.
