In addition to the two majors of Modern Economics and Management, the Graduate School of Economics saw the new establishment of Division of Regional Economics and Policy in 2016. As avenues through which students take part in the higher learning of the fundamental areas of knowledge when it comes to economic society, all of these majors are aimed at nurturing specialists able to tackle problem solving from a broad perspective through cooperation with each other. Many lectures are offered for both of the majors so that we can foster the growth of people able to perform on the international stage as individuals responsible for the running of our economy and the management of corporations in the 21st century. We are also working to enhance Graduate School education by undertaking efforts such as the introduction of systems involving main exercises and sub-exercises.

The Teikyo Asia Graduate Program for Advanced Human Resource Development offered by the Master’s Program in Division of Modern Economics within the Graduate School of Economics, has been selected for the “Special Program for Priority Allocation of Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for International Students”.
This Program accepts promising students from rapidly developing Asia and aims to cultivate highly skilled human resources who will contribute to the development of Asia through education and research guidance based on our university's spirit of practical learning.
It also aims to cultivate human resources who will deepen understanding of Japan and lay the foundation for strengthening relations between Japan and Asia.
In addition to Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for international students, the program also accepts self-financed international students.
The Teikyo Asia Graduate Program for Advanced Human Resource Development offers a curriculum, making it possible to complete all required credits for graduation through courses taught in English.
Note: This is the only program within the Graduate School of Economics in which a degree can be completed entirely in English; other programs are conducted in Japanese.
The specialized subjects include fundamental topics essential for understanding the modern economy, such as mathematical statistics, macroeconomics and microeconomics, public finance, monetary policy, and international economics, which can be systematically studied through special lectures. Current applied economics and policy research demands data-driven, evidence-based arguments, and the need for research emphasizing data analysis is increasing. This curriculum aims to provide the knowledge required in this era.
To study governments and corporations, which are the main actors in economic activity, and the regions where economic activity takes place, students tackle cutting-edge themes in fields such as public finance, monetary policy, local government finance, international comparative management, and comparative industries, including comparative management of Japanese, American, and European companies, comparative industrial development in Japan and Asia, and changes in Japanese employment practices. International students often study similar cases in Japan and other Asian countries before choosing their own country's case as their research topic. Master's theses can be submitted in English. In recent years, outstanding master's theses have been reviewed and presented at academic conferences in their respective fields.
