Management of schools
- The school will only be permitted to keep passport of students in inevitable cases such as for making proxy application for permission for status of residence with the student's consent. (*5-3)
- Even in the cases of keeping the order of the school, the school should solve problems with educational consideration and not to manage the school by forcing penalty money, keeping visa or passport and in other inappropriate way. (*5-4)
- The school should not give misleading advertisements such as the part-time job is ensured in Japan. (*7)
- The school guidebook should clearly state how payment should be made for application fee, enrollment fee, tuition fee, facility maintenance fee and other fees. (*8-1)
- There must be a clear indication of refund policy to the students who will be enrolled whether the school will refund or not in an authorized manner as a fair educational institution in Japan, in the case that students declined the enrollment or withdrawn from the school after they paid their school expenses (*8-2).
The above standards are simplified quotation from the Japanese Language Institutes' Guideline for accepting Foreign Pre-college and College Students, presented by "The Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education". The figures in ( ) shows the article numbers of the original guideline.
Education
