Open any history textbook on Japan and you will be sure to find a mention of the Tomioka Silk Mill. This famous site is located in Gunma Prefecture in Japan's Kanto region. Gunma is a popular destination for international students for many reasons, one being the prefecture's "onsen" hot springs, with the Kusatsu Hot Springs being some of the most famous. Many international students visit a hot spring to reward themselves after working hard at their studies. Beautiful nature is also abundant in Gunma. On their way to their classes, students are often able to catch a glimpse of Mount Akagi, and this beautiful scenery often reminds international students of the excellent choice they made in coming to study in Gunma.
