Applicants must submit at least 1 result from among the TOEFL-iBT, TOEIC, and IELTS tests. Note that test results can be no more than 2 years old at the time of application (date of postmark). Original documents must be submitted for certifications of English language ability.

*Academic Transcript from High School
The grades on your academic transcript have to be written based on the U.S. grading system. If your high school is in the U.S. or follows the U.S. grading system, you only need to send your original academic transcript (photocopies are not acceptable) to the University.
If your high school does NOT follow the U.S. grading system, you must submit your high school academic transcript to the International Education Research Foundation (IERF) for conversion to an U.S. grade equivalent. A “Detail Report” issued by IERF and the original academic transcript (photocopies are not acceptable) from high school must be submitted to the university by applicants themselves. (Please refer to the links below for more information on IERF).
Please note: Submission of academic records or mid-year reports without going through the IERF procedure will not be accepted. The fees for the IERF procedure are to be borne by the applicant.
If there is a delay in the submission of your academic transcript (photocopies are not acceptable) due to the procedure to issue a Detail Report by IERF, Soka University must be informed in advance of the delay.

If your country conducts a national examination/standardized test, you need to submit the official result certificate/score transcript. (Photocopies are not acceptable.) Please refer to the examples of national examination/standardized tests below. If there are other relevant examinations that prove your eligibility to enter a university, please submit them.
For Documents that are not written in English, an official translation must be submitted along with the original result certificate/score transcript. (Photocopies are not acceptable.)
For those applicants from countries which do not conduct a national examination/standardized test, this submission is not required.
