Applying the latest information and communications technology for learning in a variety of fields

The Faculty of Information Sciences and Arts explores new fields in the study of information. It responds to the demands of society for a wide variety of applications of telecommunications technology for industries and human activity. Studies are held to provide clear understanding in a wide variety of fields, such as industry, economics, culture, arts, the environment, and psychology, as well as the relationship of each to information. Students will gain the ability to increase the value of information in creative ways among many areas of society.

Training the leaders of the knowledge and information-based society of the 21st century

Students will cultivate the fundamental skills for creating unique information technologies and systems within information-related fields. Classes do not simply provide knowledge in fields of information, but are designed to emphasize the acquisition of perspectives and approaches of information sciences that are required to freely applying information technologies in various fields.

Department of Information Sciences and Arts, Media Culture Course
Theoretical and hands-on learning of media culture

Students learn the theory and practice of expressing oneself using computer technology in various ways, such as computer graphics, media art, animation, video, games, or digital design. They will be trained to become able to explore media culture as informed by their global communication skills and their broad knowledge of various fields including economics and culture. Classes are structured to promote the cultivation of production and development skills for shifting from the role of a media consumer to that of a media creator.

Department of Information Sciences and Arts, Environmental Information Course
Learning the knowledge and skills for applying ICT to improve and enhance businesses and the environment

Students will acquire the skills for handling various work processes in settings ranging from company organizations to regional or global societies. They will cultivate the abilities to improve and enhance management and processes through applications of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Classes are structured to promote the training of skills for advanced business management methods involving environmental management and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

Department of Information Sciences and Arts, Psychological Information
Acquiring planning, experimentation and research skills along with the techniques of statistical analysis

Students will acquire specialized knowledge pertaining to psychology and information and the practical skills for carrying out psychological experimentation and research. They will also cultivate a broad view and education based on the theory and practice of the application of statistical processes for those skills. Students will develop the mind of a counselor and become able to deeply understand the human mind, and enhance their communication skills for working in business environments. Classes are structured to promote the training of individuals who can address the workings of the human mind within any field.
