2023/08/15 Ryukoku University Japanese Culture and Language Program 
The “International Collaborative Learning Classes” were held in the first semester of 2023 in collaboration with the Faculty of Policy Science at Ryukoku University and exchange student classes.
Although the teachers used English for in-class instructions, discussions within each team could be conducted in any language. The students could be seen employing various measures to make full use of their own language resources, such as through using gestures, translation apps, and interpreting by team members. Students gain more intercultural competence, rather than language skills, through international collaborative learning. Being tolerant is the most important aspect of working in collaboration with people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Ryukoku University is focusing on international collaborative learning as an initiative that will lead to our goal of "nurturing citizens with “Magokoro” (sincerity)".
