The university was founded in 2000 as the first university for tourism in Japan. It aims to train specialists of tourism who have "spirit of hospitality" that is pride of Japan. Students get abilities of both sides of theory and practice for the aimed areas of tourism on the stage of study of actual field on travel, aviation and hotel industry.

Faculty of Cross-Cultural Studies in Japan has been established. The aim is to train "Earthlings with Japanese spirit"= international persons who can make the world happy.
