Founded as a private academy in 1869, Ritsumeikan University (RU) boasts 14 colleges and 20 graduate schools across 4 campuses in Kyoto, Shiga and Osaka.
RU has actively promoted research collaboration with industry and has made significant contributions to society both nationally and globally through various academic projects.
Ritsumeikan University was selected in 2014 as one of 37 universities for the highly competitive "Top Global University Project" by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

Remarks Eligibility criteria:
1.Applicant must have the foreign passport.
2.The persons who finished or are expected to finish the course of school education for 12 years in foreign countries by 31st March 2017, or the persons aged 18 and over who has International Baccalaureate qualification, Abitur qualification. If the applicant who were in Japanese school during the 12 -year school system, maximum of 3 years(in total) in Japanese school system is acceptable for this exam.
Attention:If applicant finished less than 12 years school system.applicant should enroll the preparatory school which is certified by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Exceptional cases also existing.Please contact our admission office.
3.Applicant who take the EJU test and have the standard points to enter our university is eligible.(need to take specific subjects) The following date of EJU are accepted.
First term of exam: November 2015 or June 2016
