The Division of Mechanics Engineering sets the following goals:
・Cultivating students’ capacity to address various complex technical issues so as to gain wide knowledge and deep understanding of the impact of industrial products and their production processes related to the environment and society. Students also need to obtain expertise and integrated skills which can be applied to address multiple critical issues.
・Achieving intellectual development of students, who are encouraged to continuously explore their specialties while engaging in meeting the desired needs of society.
・Developing students’ communication skills necessary to participate actively in global society, which can be achieved through logical thinking process training and proficiency-based language learning.
To achieve these goals, the graduate programs provide an integrated curriculum in which students are expected to explore dynamics-oriented areas including mechanics of materials, dynamics of machinery, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics as well as material science, and precision machining. Students are also encouraged to extend their research to other areas including electrical and electronic engineering and control engineering. This multi-dimensional research approach helps them develop and improve their engineering ability in order to use integrated techniques and skills and sophisticated engineering tools necessary for a well-balanced engineering practice. With a strong emphasis on a comprehensive research approach, we cultivate students’ knowledge so that they can contribute to developing modern technologies.
The Division of Electrical Engineering and Chemistry covers a wide range of academic areas related to electrical and electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, and applied chemistry. We believe exploring these areas leads to building an evolving and sustainable society where stable energy supply can be achieved and advanced medical technologies can be widely available for future generations. Our mission is cultivating researchers and engineers capable of applying their expertise and integrated skills to build a next-generation smart energy system and thus contribute to improving everyday life.
The Division of Cooperative Major in Nuclear Energy offers extensive study and research programs implemented in a rich academic environment. Exploring three core areas (nuclear engineering, nuclear safety and radiation engineering), students extend their study and research interest in the following areas: reactor physics, nuclear plant engineering, nuclear fuels/materials engineering, nuclear safety engineering, nuclear seismic engineering, nuclear fuel cycle engineering, radiation measurement engineering and accelerator engineering.
We are committed to cultivating nuclear engineers and researchers able to develop expertise and practical skills. Extended opportunities for nuclear study and research are offered to students in Ozenji Campus Atomic Energy Research Laboratory, where they focus on specialized areas including accelerator engineering, back-end (Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Environment) engineering and nuclear decommissioning engineering, all of which are of vital importance for the development and applications of future nuclear technology.
The Division of Architecture and Civil Engineering provides opportunities for specialized study and research to students who would like to expand their research interests in the multi-dimensional fields including sociology, economics, history, physiology, and biology. This inter-disciplinary approach helps students address and resolve such global challenges as environmental issues we face today, while developing their expertise and nurturing their global vision.
In the field of Architecture, students are actively engaged in obtaining knowledge in specialized fields as well as broadening perspectives in related areas which include planning in architecture, architectural design, planning of housing and urban environment, various architectural structures, building materials and construction methods, architectural environment and services. Students specializing in the field of Civil Engineering are offered various courses including structural and safety engineering, disaster mitigation and reduction engineering, geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, water environment engineering, infrastructure planning and management in civil engineering and social infrastructure management for full-time employees.
The Division of Informatics provides academic opportunities for study and research of information engineering and system information engineering, which focus on areas supporting the development of an advanced information society. The Division offers the programs that cover a broad range of fields, integrating information science, information-communication, management systems, intelligence information within the fields of information-communication technology and the fields where it can be applied, which is the main objective of our providing study and research opportunities. The Division promotes the collaboration with relevant departments and graduate divisions that offer specialized programs.
The Division of Informatics offers the following: a series of stimulating courses that allow students to deepen and widen their study in accordance with their field interests, including control system engineering, computer engineering, computer software engineering, visions and graphics, intelligent information engineering, communication systems, integrated systems, mathematical information engineering, management system engineering, human and media engineering, network information engineering, and vision system engineering.
