【RIKKYO UNIVERSITY ON-LINE APPLICATION BEGINS!】
Rikkyo University will introduce the new on-line application system in the entrance examination for international students for the academic year 2018/19.
The on-line application period for the admission in the academic year 2018/19 (for the selection by paper screening) is from Thursday, November 2, to Friday, November 17. The interested applicants are advised to check on the link below for submitting their applications.
The applicants are required to submit the additional documents by mail before the deadline of Wednesday, November 22, after they finish the on-line application. Please note that the on-line application itself does not complete the entire application procedure.
The college aims to develop students’ logical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities by equipping them with basic knowledge and perspectives of natural science. By doing so, it provides students with the ability to excel in today’s knowledge-oriented society, where knowledge is the most important key resource.
Mathematics, a most fundamental discipline that has been developed since the time of ancient Greece, has contributed to the development of contemporary social sciences, such as computer science and statistical mathematics. Small classes enable students to study a broad range of subjects intensely, ranging from algebra, geometry, and mathematical analysis to computer science and mathematical physics.
Since physics is the study to discover theories in natural phenomena, it covers a very wide range of subjects from the maximum scale of universe to its minimum components, including particles, nuclei, atoms, and molecules. Students will start from studying introductory materials and then move progressively to the latest research topics in order to develop their physics sensibilities and enhance their logical thinking through extensive experimentation.
Chemistry uncovers the principles of reactions that transform substances and its mission is to produce substances that have new functions by the application of such principles. By offering a curriculum that emphasizes experimentation and instructions focused on the interests of individual students, the department aims to help the students accurately understand the properties and reactions of substances, starting with the fundamentals of the discipline.
All organisms are made of cells, and those cells are made of molecules. Focusing on the four disciplines of molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular and cellular biology, students will learn about the living nature of cells; study advanced topics in life science, including the current state of development in this constantly evolving field and the potential of applied technologies therein; and explore the question of what it means to be alive.
