Japan's first educational institution to receive ISO 14001 Certification
In 1998, Tokyo City University became the first higher educational institution in Japan to receive ISO 14001 certification. The Yokohama Campus has been nicknamed the "Eco-Campus" for its various environmentally-friendly features.
Fieldwork refers to hands-on activities by students, and includes visits to places related to their academic research, the holding of questionnaires and surveys, and the gathering of materials for study projects. Fieldwork is a modern approach to learning that exposes students to new experiences, and it is gathering attention from various universities and educational institutions.
Our Field Seminar Rooms were designed with fieldwork in mind. The rooms have a full line of equipment including a reflecting stereoscope for referencing aerial photography and measuring equipment such as infrared thermometers, luminometers, anemoscopes and anemometers.
This space and its equipment is used often for fieldwork courses, providing essential measurement tools for the scientific study of the environment.
The multimedia rooms on campus are used for a wide variety of situations, including events and videoconferencing.
Spaces include FEIS Hall (capacity of 270), Classroom 31A (300), Classroom 32A (200), the Presentation Laboratory (120), the Mini-Presentation Laboratory, and the large-capacity Multi-purpose Classroom.
