*1: EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students)
The EJU exam is held twice a year (June and November) and is commonly used as part of the admissions screening criteria for students wanting to enter a Japanese public or private university (in some cases it might not be required depending on the university). The examination evaluates international students’ Japanese language skills and basic academic ability. The test in Japanese as a Foreign Language consists of reading comprehension, writing, listening and listening-reading comprehension.
Humanities: Japanese as a Foreign Language, General Subjects (Social Studies) and Mathematics
Sciences: Japanese as a Foreign Language, Science (two from Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and Mathematics
*2: Written Expression
Students practice writing according to their language proficiency, honing their skills in written expression. Students in the advanced class will also practice summarizing long compositions, obtaining the practical report and essay writing skills required at university level.
This course aims to foster in-depth knowledge about Japan and includes classes on Japanese geography, industry, history and current affairs.
These subjects are included in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) and in the entrance examinations of Japanese universities.
English is not included in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students. However, because it is considered to be a very important subject, a lot of Japanese universities have English as part of their entrance examination and require students to take compulsory English courses after enrollment.
