Kobe Gakuin University has two campuses in Arise and Port Island.
The original campus at Arise is positioned on a hill that overlooks the Seto Inland Sea and the great Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. The Port Island campus features beautiful red brick buildings situated on an expansive campus of over 140,000 square meters. The Port Island Campus is where the classes of the Faculty of Global Communication are held.
The Arise Library, Port Island Library, and Law Library combined contain 1.1 million volumes, 29,000 audiovisual resources, and 7,200 scientific journals. An electronic journal system and student job-hunting database allows for the easy search and retrieval of necessary information materials. Apart from providing research material, the libraries also hold events and exhibits for students like the "Reading Rally" and "Student Book Recommendation Tours", and programs like "Guest Registration" and the issuing of "Library Entry Passes" promote usage of the libraries by non-students. Along with themed exhibits drawn from the libraries' collections and related special lectures, we actively provide our resources for public use.
A total of approximately 1,100 personal computers are installed in computer labs and other study rooms, and e-Learning programs allow the exchange of class materials and homework over the computer network. Advances in information technology are being actively implemented and progressively deployed, such as a notification service that can be used with phones and personal computers to confirm class cancellations or classroom changes.
