Center for International Affairs

The Center brings a broad international outlook to the provision of support for international students studying at Nanzan University, and for Nanzan students seeking to study at educational institutions outside Japan.

Koryu Kaikan

Nanzan University has accommodation facilities known as Koryu Kaikan, where international students and local students live together. Local students interested in assisting international students with life in Japan can apply for residence in these facilities. Applications are taken at the Center for International Affairs on the second floor of building R.

Japan Plaza

Japan Plaza is a communal space where Japanese is the only language that may be used. It was established to provide international students enrolling at Nanzan University with regular opportunities to interact with Japanese students in Japanese. Japan Plaza offers a comfortable, informal environment for international students to encounter everyday conversation beyond textbook Japanese, and for Japanese students to interact with peers from other countries in Japanese, their native language.

Multi-Cultural Exchange Lounge

In the summer of 2017, we opened a lounge for cross-cultural activities. The lounge is located on the second floor of Building R. This is a place where Nanzan students mainly plan, manage and provide a wide variety of multicultural events. Students may interact with each other regardless of their nationalities and backgrounds. You can enjoy this new experience with other students from all over the world.
