Sumo Club Wins Kansai Women's Sumo Championship Lightweight Class for the First Time
Ms. Nozomi Masaki, a first-year student of the university's Sumo Club, won the first championship in the lightweight class of the 8th Kansai Women's Sumo Championship held on August 29.
There is only one female member of the 11-member sumo club, but she trained hard and achieved this great accomplishment.
The team is expected to do well in the All Japan Women's Sumo Tournament scheduled to be held in October. The men's team will also compete in the West Japan Student Sumo Individual Weight Class Championship Tournament scheduled for September 5.
