JCLP Students’ November 25th Field Trip

For their most recent field trip, students on the Japanese Culture and Language Program (JCLP) visited the World Cultural Heritage Daigoji Temple.
Located at the top of Mt. Daigo in Kyoto, the Daigoji Temple was built by Rigen Daishi (the Great Master of Holy Treasures), a Buddhist monk who traveled to China and studied under one of the former disciples of Kukai, the Grand Master who Propagated the Dharma.
International students were able to see the Temple’s five-storied pagoda, a national treasure and the oldest wooden building in the prefecture, as well as the Sanbo-in building and beautiful fusuma (sliding paper door) paintings from the Momoyama period.

Why don’t you come and sit on the verandah and enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves?
