Fostering true global citizens through "Liberal Arts Education" and "Comprehensive Student Life Support"

● What kind of school is J. F. Oberlin University?
J. F. Oberlin University is a school located in Tokyo that places an emphasis on liberal arts education. The university's comprehensive programs are divided into two main programs: "Liberal Arts," through which learning in a variety of fields allows students to create their own futures, and "Professional Arts," which provides practical learning for students' future endeavors and careers.

● What is the curriculum like?
The curriculum at J. F. Oberlin University is notable for using a major/minor system. As a requirement for graduation, students must complete the specialized programs and courses within their affiliated field as the major component, but students may also select a minor in another field if they wish to do so. Some students also design their own double major program and graduate with two degrees in four years of study.

● Why should I choose J. F. Oberlin University for study in Japan?
There are approximately 500 international students from 20 countries studying on campus. International students choose J. F. Oberlin University not only for its educational programs but also for the comprehensive student support systems that include the university's scholarship programs, two international dormitories, and an employment rate of 100% for international student graduates.

● Why is J. F. Oberlin University so popular with students from China?
The predecessor to J. F. Oberlin University was the Chongzhen Vocational and Grammar School for Girls, which was founded in Beijing in 1921 to provide learning opportunities for poor children. This history has made J. F. Oberlin University a popular choice for Chinese students to this day. There is a local office in Beijing, and entrance examinations are held (for April or September enrollment) in other major cities in China, such as Shanghai, Tianjin, and Dalian, in cooperation with Chinese universities. The university's Admissions office has Chinese-speaking staff available at all times, so please contact us with any questions you may have.
