The Faculty of Humanities aims to nurture individuals with a strong understanding of a diverse array of cultures and values, who can articulate their ideas and explain their own culture in a foreign language, and who can successfully interact with people from different cultures.
Located in Ekoda, in Tokyo’s Nerima Ward, Musashi University is conveniently close to the hubs of Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro. Home to three academic institutions, Ekoda has the vibe of a lively, student-friendly area. Predominantly a residential area, centered around an old-style shopping district, Ekoda’s rich natural environment provides a quiet and comfortable place for students to experience during their stay at Musashi University.
There is a reasonably priced university dormitory at Musashi University’s Athletic Complex in Asaka, Saitama. The dormitory is a secure and safe facility offering private rooms, a weekly meal service, and afternoon bus service from the main campus.
Musashi University offers international students two study options. The first is as a short-term student. These students come predominately from Musashi University’s international partner universities and spend either an academic semester or year on campus.
The second option is as a degree-seeking student. While all departments are open to accepting international students through regular entrance examinations, the Department of Japanese and East Asia Studies in the Faculty of Humanities has instituted a special admissions process for international students.
