Socio-Cultural Basics Sciences (Master's Course)

This department provides an education in the basics of the principles and theories of philosophy, thinking, art, and literature in human culture. We aim to cultivate skilled individuals who can understand and share these fundamental concepts, as well as the latest related developments in these topics, to their local communities and the wider international society. By learning from a broad range of perspectives in the humanities and social sciences on how communities, social groups and organizations are formed, students will develop the advanced, practical decision-making skills required for being active in various sectors of society such as politics, becoming experts well-versed in applying theories of government, economics, and statistics as tools for building organizations. The school also endeavors to foster leaders that can play roles in bringing together and further developing local communities and organizations.

Comparative Socio-Cultural Sciences (Master's Course)

In this department, students will learn about how diverse societies and cultures arise through studies in fields such as literature, language, law, economics, and history from a perspective of international comparative studies. Students will acquire the methods and techniques for promoting co-existence among differing societies and cultures.
We aim to foster skilled individuals by providing them with an education in practice and theory based on diverse research related to socio-cultural topics. By gaining an in-depth understanding of the specific qualities of various societies, countries, regions, and cultures, the relationships between them can be analyzed on a higher order with a broad perspective. While focusing on international student education and lifelong learning, we strive to nurture skilled individuals who can excel in a wide variety of fields, including work in global businesses and international institutions and NGOs.

Public Policy Sciences (Master's Course)

This department fosters skilled individuals with the ability to propose solutions to various contemporary social issues by understanding them in terms of their public scope and the public resources at hand. We aim to create productive, specialized professionals with a keen understanding of public policy who have the skills to formulate, execute, and take charge of the policies and projects in strong demand by national and local governments, public organizations such as NGOs, and private corporations. Students in this department will develop an understanding of the issues facing public organizations from legal, political, and economic viewpoints, as well as the skills to address those issues, and gain the legal knowledge and skills demanded from our complex society so that they may become specialized professionals, such as tax accountants and judicial scriveners.

Management Sciences in Organization (Master's Course)

This department aims to provide students with a logical understanding and the practical problem-solving skills and leadership to address the issues related to the operations of modern organizations (such as companies, public organizations, and institutions) through diverse studies in management, accounting, and organizational economics. We strive to train business professionals with the capacity to actively take up and devise solutions to issues related to the management of organizations. We also offer courses for those interested in becoming specialized professionals such as certified public accountants and tax accountants. Furthermore, upon completion of the program, students can acquire a Master's degree in Business, which is equivalent to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) of North American and European institutions.

Cultural Symbiotics (Doctor's Course)

This is the social and cultural studies doctoral program of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. This program offers study in 3 departments: Cultural Symbiotics (human culture and socio-cultural theory), Human Social Science (Japanese culture and comparative cultural development theory), and Socio-Economic Planning and Policy Science (public policy and modern business theory). We endeavor to carry out research using diverse, interdisciplinary approaches focused on cultures, organizations, individuals, societies, and communities, based on our school's goal of "building a society of co-existence".
