The Faculty of Global Communications aims to give students the strength to determine their own future through the pursuit of high-level applied language skills in a small-class environment for Japanese, English, and Chinese language subjects as well as the acquisition of communication skills for using those languages.
There are English, Chinese, and Japanese courses, and intercultural exchange can be experienced naturally, as the curriculum allows students to take the classes of other courses within the program.
By exchanging views with international students on a certain topic, or through experiencing working together on a project, participants can enhance the practical communication skills they will need for their future careers.
Instead of lectures, classes are held in a workshop format providing a series of hands-on learning activities to cultivate crucial generic skills for building human relations out in the real world.
Compared to other faculties, the curriculum also offers 3 times as many class hours for language learning in the first two years. This thorough language learning program increases the frequency participants are exposed to foreign languages and provides each of them with the communication skills necessary for study abroad.
Furthermore, classes with an emphasis on making presentations are also held in the 2nd through 4th years of the program. Participants can increase their foreign language proficiency in anticipation of their future careers. Classes are also provided in preparation for various standardized language proficiency tests.
A foreign language education with more than 540 classroom hours in the first 2 years!
Every day provides opportunities for cultural exchange.
A variety of workshop courses provide students with both basic communication skills and generic skills.
The Japanese course was established for international students who want to learn to communicate in Japanese, and practical Japanese language learning support is given for students interested in becoming Japanese teachers.
Through business internships, participants can experience business in Japan, and by working on projects held together with students from other courses, they can also acquire skills in a hands-on environment.
The curriculum also offers academic research into Japanese and Japan's culture, as well as learning designed for students interested in working in Japanese businesses.
Classes such as "Business Japanese" and "The Economy and Business in Japan" provide understanding of Japan's culture and improves one's business communication skills. A deeper understanding of Japanese culture can be attained through taking classes such as "Japanese Language and History", "Japan Studies", and "Japanese Literature".
The English course cultivates high-level English communication skills that can be used in international business and conferences. English is the future of global communication, and participants will acquire comprehensive skills they can apply in the field.
In addition to 6-month overseas study programs at partner universities in English-speaking countries, the curriculum also offers academic research into the English language and its cultures, as well as learning designed for students interested in applying their English skills in business situations.
Furthermore, plans are underway so that program participants can earn a junior high school and high school English teaching license (application under review). This curriculum will provide opportunities for those looking to acquire the teacher's license necessary to become an English educator.
*The period of availability of this planned teacher's program may change depending on the results of the screening by the Ministry of Education.

In addition to a small-class environment of 30 students per academic year, the curriculum includes a 6-month overseas study program for all participants as well as test preparation courses for Chinese language proficiency tests.
