Summer Session in Asian Studies

Located in central Tokyo, TUJ is the branch campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, USA. TUJ is Japan’s largest and oldest foreign university. All courses are taught in English and adhere to the same high standards as the main Temple University campus. TUJ was founded in 1982 and designated as the first Foreign University, Japan Campus by the Japanese Ministry of Education in 2005.
The Undergraduate Program offers 10 majors: International Business Studies, International Affairs, Asian Studies, Communications, Economics, Art, Psychological Studies, Political Science, Japanese Language and General Studies. TUJ accepts new students every Fall, Spring and Summer semester.
TUJ offers graduate programs in law, education (TESOL), and business (MBA). Classes are held in the evenings and weekends to meet the schedules of working professionals.

The School of Global Japanese Studies (SGJS), Meiji University, has English-based program, English Track. In this program, students are able to earn all the credits of the SGJS in English and obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in 4 years.
This program features a curriculum that concentrates on traditional and modern Japanese culture, as well as Japanese society in the global community, all of which are currently attracting worldwide attention. The Cool Japan.

The university is located in the center of Sendai, the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture. Sendai is located about 300 kilometers north of Tokyo, Japan's capital. The city is directly connected to the capital by the “Tohoku Shinkansen” bullet train (1h40m). Living in Sendai, students can experience the beauty of the four seasons in a very moderate climate.
While being competitive at the cutting-edge of international research especially in the field of Material Science, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering, Tohoku University has been recognized by Japanese high schools as the best university to realize academic and personal development.
Tohoku University is among the universities selected for the Global 30 Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) launched in 2009. Under its Future Global Leadership (FGL) program, our university recognizes the importance of offering courses that allow students to earn a degree by only taking classes taught in English, and 13 of such courses will be offered. Meanwhile, undergraduate courses taught in English will be introduced at the undergraduate Schools of Science, Engineering, and Agriculture from October 2011. International learning opportunities are being greatly expanded.
